How To Use A Golf Scorecard Holder

Golf scorecard holders are super easy to use and can be extremely useful. There’s so many different types of golf scorecard holders as well so you shouldn’t have a problem finding one that matches your style.

This is how to use a golf scorecard holder:

  1. Make sure you have a scorecard holder
  2. Grab your scorecard and fold it in a way that it will fit in the scorecard holder
  3. Slide the scorecard under the elastic bands that should come with your scorecard holder.
  4. Slide your little pencil in the top part of the scorecard holder
  5. When finished, put the scorecard holder in your back pocket, golf bag, or wherever you see fit.

I’ll go into the different types of scorecard holders down below, so keep reading.

Best Golf Scorecard Holder

Fuzzy Bunkers

Fuzzy Bunker Golf Scorecard Holder have seven different colors of the style that you see above.

  • Gray
  • Green
  • Pink
  • Purple
  • Red
  • Teal
  • White

When you purchase a Fuzzy Bunker Golf Scorecard Holder, they give you a downloadable golf stat tracking sheet. You would put the stat tracking sheet on the adjacent side of the scorecard.

You can also save 15% on your purchase when you buy 2. Enter promo code: SAVEME15 at check out.

Torro Genuine Leather

The Torro Genuine Leather golf scorecard and yardage book holder is a hand made 100% genuine leather that comes in three colors.

  • Black,
  • Dark Brown
  • Red

This scorecard holder comes with a really sweet feature, that feature is an additional flip up insert. This additional flip up feature allows you to hide your scorecard but access it extremely easily when you pull the scorecard holder out.

You can also remove the scorecard insert from the overall holder and just use that if you don’t need the yardage holder.

The yardage book comes with a pencil holder but the additional insert for you scorecard does not have a pencil holder.

So if you remove the scorecard holder from the yardage book, you would need to keep your pencil in your pocket or golf cart.

Overall, this is a very nice looking yardage book and scorecard holder. Meant for the sophisticated golfer for sure.

On Par

On Par is a premium crocodile skin golf scorecard holder that comes in only one color, crocodile.

This is one of the more reasonably priced golf scorecard holders and does everything the other two products do just as well.

The main difference is quality, you get what you pay for, that’s what they say when you buy something inexpensive and it falls apart on you.

Example: I went through a $25 leather wallet every year for about five years. I eventually purchased a $160 wallet that I’ve had for about six years now and love it.

Some Additional Inserts

Golf Scorecard And Statistics Book

This is a perfect insert into your yardage book or scorecard book. Keep track of only one book and not a bunch of scorecards.

The yardage books comes in a two pack and in total, you get 19 rounds of golf.

Another great feature is the paper isn’t any ordinary paper, the scorecard sheets are printed on Rite in the Rain paper.

Rite in the Rain

Speaking of Rite in the Rain paper, if you like taking notes while playing golf, just use the Rite in the Rain book.

Golf Scorecard Holder Dimensions

Golf Scorecard Holder Dimensions can vary for product to product. One thing that they all have in common is they should all fit in your back pocket.

Some might be too long and stick out a couple inches but that’s not a big deal in my opinion. You just don’t want it to be too wide, this would obviously prevent the scorecard holder from fitting in your back pocket.

Should I Use A Golf Scorecard Holder?

That depends, ask yourself these questions and you might be able to answer it pretty fast.

  1. Do you play golf more than once a week?
  2. Do you like keeping a scorecard on your body while you play?
  3. Do you usually walk, drive a golf cart, or use a push cart?
  4. Do you want to look cool?

That last question was just a joke but to the point, you either need a golf scorecard holder or you don’t. If you think that it will benefit you by keeping it in your back pocket, get one.

If you feel like your skill level is at a point where you shouldn’t even be keeping score because you’re in the 120+ range, don’t bother.

I say “don’t bother” not to be mean, but because you have so many other things to focus on other than score.

But, if you’re shooting bellow 95 or 100, sure, have at it.

Golf Bag Cooler Insert

Looking for a Golf Bag Cooler Insert? The options are endless it may seem if you go search on amazon. But, which one would be considered the best Golf Bag Cooler Insert for your money?

First, why would you need a golf bag cooler insert in the first place? The obvious answer of course is to keep your beer ice cold ; ). But there’s other reasons such as keeping your lunch, candy, energy drink, and maybe your medication that might be temperature sensitive.

Here’s a list of what I have found that are either Golf Bag Cooler Inserts or they are related or benefit it in some way.

  1. CaddySwag
  2. CaddyDaddy
  3. Geckobrands
  4. CleverMade
  5. Asobu

I go into more detail about each of the products listed above later in the post. But I believe that each of the products are great for any golfer and can also be used for any occasion.

Most Popular Golf Bag Cooler Insert

Caddyswag

The Caddyswag was featured on the show Shark Tank. I didn’t watch that particular episode but Caddyswag appears to be doing rather well for themselves.

This fits perfectly into any golf bag large side pocket, and it comes with a handle and strap for easy carrying.

Check out the post where I go into a little bit more detail about Caddyswag

The CaddyDaddy

This is similar to the CaddySwag but the CaddyDaddy has two separate points of access. One is a horse shoe opening on the face of the bag and the other is a side opening about halfway up the bag.

The CaddyDaddy also allows for ice to be used without making a mess of your golf bag. This is possible because the side pocket doesn’t extend the entire length of the bag.

Geckobrands Verticool Cooler

The Geckobrands Vertical Cooler is in some ways similar to the first two coolers but has it’s differences for sure.

The main difference is that you can stick two bottles of wine into the cooler. Now I’ve never had wine while I played golf but I’m sure there are golfers out there that would rather drink wine than beer.

This cooler bag can also fit nicely in one of the large side pockets of your golf bag.

Individule Beer Bottle/Can Cooler

https://youtu.be/XY9cuK99ZSM

When I saw Asobu Bottle and Can Cooler, I knew this was going to be perfect for golfers. I know it’s not a Golf Bag Cooler Insert, but it can definitely make your day on the golf course much more enjoyable.

It obviously doesn’t keep an entire six pack cold but it makes it super easy to keep what’s already cold, cold.

Most people know that once you pull that drink from the cooler, it warms up rather quickly.

What’s nice about this is, you can put the lid back on the bottle and toss it back in your bag.

I feel like the Golf Bag Cooler Insert and the individual drink cooler go hand in hand.

Clever Made

I really like what Clever Made has done with this bag! Even though it’s not designed to be inserted into a golf bag, it makes for a versatile cooler to be used for many occasions.

If you like drinking wine while you play golf, this is designed for wine bottles, as well as bottles of beer and cans.

This could easily be strapped to a golf bag with the two “U” hooks that the strap is attached to. Just replaced the strap with a couple of Carabiner Clips and you got a custom cooler bag that’s strapped to your golf bag.

Now, not all golf bags have the setup to strap this bag to the golf bag. So make sure you inspect your bag to see if it would even work before you take on the task.

I hope you enjoyed the post, feel free to support the work that was put into this post by using one of the links above to grab your Golf Bag Cooler Insert.

How To Keep Beer Cold In Golf Bag

This is a question that many of men…and women have asked themselves for years and years.

How to keep beer cold in your golf bag seems like it would be an easy question to answer. But because you are searching for the answer, I’m going to do my best to answer it.

For some reason, beer is one of those drinks that golfers love to drink while playing golf. Something that can give you the confidence to go for the island green, or go for the green on a par four.

It turns out that beer is best served at 44 degrees fahrenheit, that means, we have to keep that beer cold.
You will need the following:

  1. Slim cooler insert for the large side pockets.
  2. Cooler packs or ice
  3. A hot summer day and some drinks : )

In All Seriousness

Keeping your drinks cold regardless of the choice of beverage is something that golfers need, no question about it. So here’s a product that will keep your beverage ice cold for the entire round…well, depending on the temperature outside.

Caddyswag

This is an idea that demands respect! And it’s also one of those ideas that makes you want to kick yourself because it seems so obvious.

This little bag makes it super easy to load the beer bag in the golf bag, as well as remove the beer from the golf bag.

It fits perfectly in most golf bags, so no need to go buy a golf bag just to accommodate the beer cooler bag.

The description here doesn’t do it justice! Go check out the link because this was one of those products that got so much attention. The show Shark Tank invested in it. Check it out here!

There are more options as well, see my other post Golf Bag Cooler Inserts

I Don’t Recommend This

But I want to tell you a story of my brothers brilliant idea to keep his beer cold. I have only seen him do this one time, but it was pretty clever if you ask me.

He purchased a 12 pack of beer, can’t remember the type…maybe Coors lite or something. While he was getting the beer, he needed to make those beers cold.

So he purchased a bag of ice, but he didn’t have anything to hold the ice in nor the beer.

So he took nine beers out of the twelve pack. He tossed three on the bottom of one of the larger side pockets. Then he poured some ice over them. packed three more beers and poured more ice on them.

He then put the last three beers in the bag and poured ice on those.

Can You Guess How That Turned Out?

Let’s just say, the beer was ice cold by about the third or fourth hole. His bag on the other hand was soaking wet at the bottom as you would assume.

It was dripping the entire time we played until the ice was completely melded away.

Whatever Works, Right?

He was in a pinch and needed cold beer on a hot summer day. What else was he suppose to do?

If he had a cooler with him like the one above, that would have solved his problems no question.

Heck, even if he had a garbage bag with him, that would have at least kept the water from soaking his bag.

Completely Lost My Golf Swing

I have completely lost my golf swing too many times to remember. But what does losing your golf swing even mean?

Did you actually lose your swing or did you even have a good swing to begin with? I remember when I thought my golf swing looked good and was effective. I started to study the pros and discovered that my swing was ugly and inefficient.

Maybe your golf swing is full of bad habits and the week or month that you decided to take  a break from the game, they showed their ugly faces.

If you look at the aesthetics of a golf swing then no, there is no perfect golf swing, because everyone has a different opinion. So let’s look at this in a different way.

If you go to the PGA Championship driving range, which has arguably the best field in golf. Look at their swing, the players are hitting balls great, every single player.

You could have Jim Furyk hitting shots next to Rory McIlroy, and although Rory will no doubt be hitting it further than Jim, you’d notice that Jim hits it straight, far and consistent.

Would you Swap Your Golf Swing for Jim Furyk’s?

If you just looked at the swing without seeing the result, most people would not swap their swing. But when you see the result of the swing, any amateur golfer would happily swap their swing with Jim’s.

What I’m saying is that the results matter, not the way the swing looks. Here’s the problem for the average golfer when it comes to the golf swing.

Jim Furyk has hit thousands of balls with his unorthodox swing, he hits the ball long and straight. Equally, so has Rory McIlroy.

There would NOT be a player on the PGA Tour that hasn’t hit thousands of balls. So you could reasonably say, to hit the ball consistently long and straight then you need to hit thousands of balls.

That’s a fact (but there is a shortcut, stay tuned for that)

The amount of balls pro’s hit is common knowledge. Sadly, a lot of amateur golfers wrongly think they need to just hit more golf balls too. But they’re wrong. Because if you were to just hit more balls you would not get better, and in fact, you would probably just get worse.

Why Would Your Swing Get Worse?

Because by practicing more you would just make your bad habits even more ingrained. Check out my other post titled Why Should I Take Golf Lessons, it might interest you.

You see, for the pro’s, even though some of them have funny looking swings, they have figured out what it takes for them to return the club to a good impact position time after time.

If you haven’t figured that out yet, then just beating balls is not going to help you.

Instead, if you really want to improve your ball striking you need to change your swing and then practice more (again, I have a shortcut).

To Change Your Swing You Need To Do This

  1. Have a clear idea in your mind as to how you want to swing.
  2. Groove that swing over and over again.

The fact is, if you want to improve your ball striking you need to change your swing, so that you get to impact consistently in a great position so the ball goes long and straight, consistently.

Then you need to groove that new swing over and over again, so that out on the golf course you just automatically swing great. So there is a perfect swing for you, you just need to find it.

Everybody Is Unique

Everybody is an individual and every swing is individual. A perfect swing for someone else will not necessarily be a perfect swing for you. So there’s not ‘one’ perfect swing, but there is a perfect swing for you.

I’m sure this all makes complete sense to you, but there’s a couple of big problems.

  1. How are you meant to change your swing so that it’s perfect for you?
  2. How are you going to find the time to hit thousands of balls in order to groove that swing into a habit?

The Shortcut

Well, I’ve discovered a massive shortcut to both of those problems. There’s a program that was put together to teach you how to find the perfect golf swing…for you, and then groove that golf swing over and over again in the least amount of time.

There is nothing out there like this method of improving your golf swing. Some have said it’s a revolutionary breakthrough in golf instruction.

So, if you want to FINALLY hit the ball longer, straighter and more consistently without the need to hit thousands of balls, check out this training.

You won’t regret it!

Best Rated Graphite Irons

I think the question should be “Best Rated Graphite Shaft”. The shafts that I’m going to recommend is an option with most of the major club manufacturers.

I would say the best rated graphite irons would have to be Mizuno heads with SteelFiber shafts. But these aren’t on the market already built, you need to order the clubs and replace the shafts.

Yes, that is a biased opinion on the irons and the shaft but you ask the question in Google, not me. The proof is in the pudding though, I’ll explain later!

https://youtu.be/vIyjSE8sfUw

Here are some great reasons to have graphite shafts irons:

  1. Great for lower swing speeds
  2. Lighter shaft than steel shafts
  3. More lag in the club
  4. Really cool looking shafts on the market.

About AeroTech Golf

AeroTech has been around for years manufacturing graphite products. They were the first company to manufacture a NHL approved graphite shaft hockey stick.

AeroTech also manufactured bike components, fishing rods, violin bows and many other items.

AeroTech eventually split the company to form AeroTech Golf which was just a division of AeroTech.

The shaft listed above is only one of the many golf shafts they manufacture. In fact, they have shafts specifically for Drivers, Irons, Fairway Woods, Hybrids, and Wedges.

AeroTech provides their shafts through every major club manufacture on the market. But this is only as a customized option and doesn’t come standard.

About SteelFiber i95

SteelFiber i95 shafts are the number 1 graphite shaft on tour, that’s what I meant by “proof is in the pudding”. With 92 professional tour wins at the time of writing this post, it blows the competition out of the water.

AeroTech Golf revolutionized the game with their brilliant idea of combining the two. Steel and graphite, this has so many benefits that I will go into below.

Benefits Of SteelFiber

SteelFiber essentially comes with the stability of steel and the flexibility and power of graphite.

The manufacturing process of the shaft is pretty interesting and if you want to learn more about it, here’s the link.

The SteelFiber shaft offers an unmatched strength to weight ratio that no other manufacturer can match. They use 1/5 less material than a standard graphite shaft which provides a thinner wall.

This golf shaft offers the perks of a steel shaft without the weight of the steel shaft. Which is a big deal because anyone that has played 36 holes know what noodle arms feels like.

Do You Need Graphite Shafts?

You are obviously curious about graphite shafts for your irons, or you wouldn’t be searching for it. If you think the four points I made above make sense to you and you want to explore further, check out the link above.

Graphite shafts aren’t for everyone though, I would suggest talking with a club fitter before making the decision to switch.

Last Words

I am personal a fan of steel shafts and I am a fan of Mizuno golf clubs as well. One main reason I love Mizuno is because the weight of the particular clubs I have.

They aren’t just lighter to me but the club face is much smaller and thinner to me, which is visually appealing to me when I approach the ball.

Mizuno the company have been around since 1906 but started their golf branch in 1982.

I have played Taylor Made, Titleist, Callaway, and Mizuno. Mizuno was hands down my favorite iron to play with.

Anyway, I said I would explain later why Mizuno was my favorite. Hope you get what you wanted out of the post.

My Golf Swing Has Fallen Apart

Ever wonder why your golf swing seems so smooth and in sync some days and other days way out of sync?

My golf swing has fallen apart so many times during my time of playing golf that I can’t even count. It’s all relative to the player as well, “my golf swing has fallen apart” means something completely different to everyone.

Here are some things to consider when you feel your golf swing has fallen apart, I’ll touch on each of these points later in the article.

  1. Define what exactly the problem is.
  2. Are you exhausted or have you been playing too much?
  3. How much do you practice?
  4. How long have you been playing golf for?
  5. Have you had lessons?
  6. Do you do golf exercises?
  7. Are you injured?
  8. Film your swing.

#1 – Define What Exactly The Problem Is.

This might be a difficult task. But it might not be also, check out some examples of what could be your golf swing falling apart.

  • Shanking The Golf Ball – Do you shank the ball during your round of golf?
  • Hitting The Golf Ball Fat – Do you hit the ground and not the ball?
  • Not Hitting The Golf Ball – Do you completely miss the ball?

#2 – Are You Exhausted or Have You Been Playing too Much?

It amazes me how much better our bodies can perform in all types of physical activities if we get proper rest. The body needs rest. No questions about that statement.

If you have been playing golf so much and maybe you’re a new golfer, you need to take breaks in between practice rounds or practice in general.

If you want to accurately hit a little white ball and do that consistently, you need to be willing to let you mind and body heal.

Notice how I said “mind”. Sometimes you just need to step away and think about other things for a little while. Take that time and then go back to working on your golf swing.

Golf Shirt

#3 – How Much Do You Practice?

Practice makes perfect…right? I would say perfect practice usually yields your best performance possible. Whether it’s golf, basketball, football, or playing the piano.

How are you practicing? Are you one of those golfers that has a decent golf swing but because it looks decent, you don’t think you need to practice as much?

Don’t forget about mental practice. It might sound strange but this is something that the best players in the world actually do. I personally agree with mental practice and highly recommend it. Maybe I’ll do a post on mental practice.

#4 – How Long Have You Been Playing Golf For?

I ask this question because there’s a huge difference in a player that has been playing golf for three months, and a golfer that has been playing for 3 years.

If you have been playing golf for one to six months, take it easy on yourself. Learning the golf swing is something that should be taken slow, that’s the way a great swing develops over time.

Have you been playing for three plus years? I would say, the longer you have been playing, more difficult it is to answer.

I say that because you may have put in hundreds of hours into your golf swing and now your golf swing has fallen apart?

That’s why I said earlier, just take a break. Don’t change anything in your swing just yet. If your swing has fallen apart, than, at one point, it was put together just the way you wanted it.

Have You Had Lessons?

Golf lessons aren’t for everybody, but some people absolutely should take advantage of golf lessons.

If you aren’t a student of the game of golf, if you don’t like to spend time thinking about making your game better. You might consider lessons.

If you aren’t a student of the game of golf, if you don’t like to spend time thinking about making your game better. You might consider lessons.

I ask if you have had lessons because even though I have never had “Pro Lessons” they can help a golfer discover their golf swing and even fix it.

They can point out minor flaws and or major flaws and give you exercises to work them out of your swing.

Do You Do Golf Exercises?

I remember when I was getting back into golf, exercises where the last thing on my mind.

Why build consistency and strength through golf swing relevant exercises when you can go swing the club to death?

Joey D Golf exercise program is not a golf swing developing training program. If you already have the fundamentals down for your golf swing, this program can help you keep what you have worked hard for.

I’ve personally used the program and I can honestly say that I felt so much better on the course. Confidence was high because I wasn’t getting as tired and my swing was way more consistent.

Consistency is key with golf, I highly recommend that if you don’t already do some kind of golf exercise, you really consider it.

Are You Injured?

This seems like a silly question because who wouldn’t know if they were injured…right?

Well, what if it’s a small injury? But big enough to cause your swing to be effected?

I had an ingrown toe nail once, that made it so I was shifting my weight different. I was protecting my body and my swing was suffering.

Maybe think if there are any discomforts that may be causing your golf swing to fall apart.

Film Your Swing

These days, your cell phone can record amazing video, as well as slow motion videos.

To prevent your swing from changing over time (in a bad way) keep a collection of videos.

Maybe record your swing once a month or every six months just so you can reference them in case your swing falls apart later.

This is also a really good way to track progress in your swing and kinda fun to see how bad you were in the beginning…and hopefully are much better now.

I Will End With This

Maybe your swing hasn’t fallen apart, maybe you are just having a bad day or week on the course?

Only you can figure this out and if you’re a student of the game, I think you will eventually get your golf swing back.

You might need a pro to help you or you might need to record your swing.

Just remember, your golf swing is most likely always changing but you don’t realize it. So don’t be so hard on yourself.

That’s why pro’s practice their entire life, to develop and keep a golf swing that is on par with other pro’s.

Take breaks at times when you need, go hard when you are ready!
