Cheap Golf Bags Amazon

It’s no doubt that golf is becoming more and more expensive as the years go on. If you are one of those golfers that likes a deal, keep reading because I’m gonna show you the money…savings.

Cheap golf bags on amazon are certainly there, you just need to know what to look for. But remember, you get what you pay for so purchase on the side of caution and do due diligence.

The Cheapest Bag

Orlimar Pitch & Putt
amazon

Yes, I know what you’re thinking “Why are you showing my a toy golf bag?” whelp, it’s not a toy.

The Orlimar Pitch & Putt Golf Lightweight Stand Carry Bag is in fact an actual bag for adults.

Now, would you want to play a round of golf with this bag? That depends, do you like to carry all your clubs and a bunch of golf stuff?

This Is The Cheapest

This was literally the cheapest golf bag I could find on amazon that I felt comfortable talking about. And I would say for the price, it’s not a bad choice.

This bag comes in eight different colors that all very in price by a few dollars.

The golf bag only weighs a mere 1.95 pounds so if you ever though golf bags weighed too much, this might be your bag.

The Orlimar bag comes equipped with two compartment top and has enough room for around 6 or 7 clubs comfortably.

It has one pocket that appears to be able to fit a few balls, some tees, and a pencil.

This bag has a pretty unique hand at the top of the bag that I have never seen on a bag before. It looks as if you gain pretty good control of the bag from this handle that other golf bags don’t offer.

The strap doesn’t seem to be anything special but since you are not carrying all your clubs, it should work fine.

There’s a nice spot just above the zipper pocked that fits a water bottle. You could also use it for an extra box of golf balls or hold a snack of some kind.

At the time of writing this post, there are almost 300 reviews with about 4.5 stars on amazon.

This amazes me that so many people like this golf bag but if you take a look at the pictures, you might understand why.

I could think of a few reasons to own this bag, one being that I could carry a few clubs to the range.

Or if I didn’t feel like using all my clubs on the course that day, why not, grab the lightweight bag.

You Get What You Pay For

Like I said, if you are looking for something cheap, you will most likely find cheap materials used on that product.

The biggest complaint with this bag that I can tell is the shoulder strap is not that great.

Which is apparent just by looking at the pictures but were most of the complaints of the straps valid?

Meaning, were these people trying to use the bag for something that is wasn’t meant for? Like stuffing the bag with too many clubs?

The strap doesn’t look like it’s that good of quality but if you use the bag for what it’s meant for, you shouldn’t have any issues with it.

Second Cheapest Golf Bag

Tangkula Stand Bag
amazon

The Tangkula stand bag is a lightweight bag that should be pretty easy to carry.

Unlike the first golf bag, this bag is a bit bigger and weighs almost double.

Just from the first looks of this bag, it resembled my first golf bag when I was a kid. But this is no doubt a bag for adults, but I guess a kid could also use it depending on their size.

This bag weighs in at only 3.5lbs which is pretty darn light if you ask me. But that’s to be expected with the size of the bag and the materials used.

The bag is made of polyester fabric, which is pretty strong I would say and the rest of the parts look like plastic.

Whats It Got?

The Tangkula stand bag comes equipped with four zipper pockets that can hold all of your golfing accessories.

On the side of the bag you can see there’s a large zipper pocket for your rain gear, or larger items.

On top of the larger side pocket you get a pocket for a cell phone, keys, and wallet which is great in my oppinion.

The only downside to this bag is it only has three dividers for all your golf clubs.

This may not be a big deal to you but if you have ever used a bag like this you will know how annoying they are.

I will say that the backpack style straps is a major benefit and is worth the price of the bag alone.

Should You Consider It?

At the time of writing this post, this golf bag has almost 80 reviews with about 4.5 stars.

That’s very good in my opinion, the biggest complaint about this bag is the quality of the bag.

Which I don’t know if this is a valid complaint. If you are looking to spend less money on something that goes through stress, it’s not going to last very long.

Golf bags get tossed around and picked up and put down, all while carrying your clubs.

It’s no surprise that cheaper golf bags don’t last as long as the more expensive bags.

But I would suspect that if you took care of this bag and didn’t treat it like it was garbage it would probably last.

Third Cheapest Golf Bag

Palm Springs Sunday Golf Bag
amazon

The Palm Springs Sunday Golf Bag comes in weighing 3.5lbs which if you compare to the other two bags, it’s about par.

The top part of the bags has a 7 inch oval opening with 6 slots for all your clubs.

I’m not particularly a fan of these types of openings but I did grow up using this type of golf bag and it worked out okay.

The bag comes equipped with 4 exterior zippers, one of those pockets is fleece lined. This is great for your cell phone, wallet, and keys but you could use it for anything that will fit.

The other three pockets are for you golf balls obviously in the front of the golf bag. A large side pocket for something warm to wear or maybe your lunch. And then there’s a pocket about half the size of the large side pocket on the other side of the bag.

This bag does come with a mesh pocket that’s designed for a 16oz water bottle.

Along with the water bottle holder you get a designated velcro glove tab that makes it extremely easy to keep track of your glove.

There You Have It

Nothing better than finding what you were looking for, well, I hope you found what you were looking for.

Amazon is littered with golf bags so finding the right one at the right price can be difficult.

Sometimes price shouldn’t be the deciding factor just because it doesn’t provide the proper functions.

Best Long Drive Golf Balls

So you want to drive the golf ball longer do you? Well hopefully this post can help you out in making a decision on which golf ball to use.

The golf ball that was used in the long drive competition in 2018 was the Volvik XT. But does that mean those are the best long drive golf balls?

In this post we’ll discus as many types of long drive golf balls that are out on the market.

95 ~ 105 Swing Speed Golf Balls
Long Distance Golf Balls

The Volvik XT

The Volvik XT is a pretty unique golf ball and there’s a reason why it was the chosen ball for the long drive competition.

This is the only four piece golf ball that’s available to the public that doesn’t have a urethane cover.

The XT and the TM Volvik golf balls outer cover are made of Zirconium, which is a metal.

Zirconium is a transition metal, similar to titanium, which is used in small quantities to resist corrosion.

The metal allows them to create a cover that they say is softer yet more durable than other golf balls.

The VIVID XT also features a matte finish designed specifically for the  World Long Drive circuit.

The matte finish is apparently suppose to reduce air resistance, which is interesting to me. How a finish on a golf ball can reduce air resistance.

The XT golf ball can get exceptional distance due to the fact that it produces extremely low spin off the driver.

Not a whole lot of people know about this one page on amazon. You can get anywhere from 10% off to 50% off on certain items.

Are They Worth It??

I would say these are worth a shot, I was reading through some of the reviews and they seemed promising.

Some of the people said that they could focus more on the balls because they were using a different color other than white.

Others said that they could find the ball easier, which makes sense but I feel like a white ball would be the easiest to find.

Some said that they notice a major difference in their driving distance which is great.

The price is fair and they come in some cool colors which isn’t something that interest me, but maybe you?

I’m very color blind so a blue, pink or yellow ball would be more difficult for me to see in the green grass.

All In All

I would try this ball, I would even give a color ball a shot too just to see how it plays and feels.

It’s apparently suppose to be a great ball from tee to green so give it a shot!

Slazenger Raw Distance

Slazenger Raw Distance
amazon

I played the Slazenger Raw Distance a while back and I thought it was a pretty good ball.

The only thing I didn’t like about the ball was the feel of it from about 125 yards in.

It seemed like I couldn’t control the ball from that distance for some reason.

But if I were hitting it off the tee or anything outside of 125 yards it was fine.

I wasn’t impressed with the feel while I was putting the ball, it felt as if it had no weight to it. So my putts were always falling short.

I don’t know what I was expecting from a two piece golf ball, they’re designed this way for a reason…distance.

All In All

If you are not too concerned with feel around the greens and from 125 in, this is not a bad ball.

You will get pretty good feel off the tee and for the price, it’s a pretty good deal.

GolfJet 3

I have to be honest here, I have never heard of the GolfJet 3 Premium golf ball until I saw an ad.

This ball has only one review on amazon but I believe it’s a newer golf ball.

I went to their website and they actually offer a membership service for golf balls.

Now, you might think this is a fantastic idea. You might also think, why would anyone want their golf balls delivered monthly.

There’s a market for almost anything nowadays. If people will pay to have beard razors delivered, why not golf balls.

The membership comes with a one time sign up fee which they also send you a welcome gift.

The membership has different levels to it which have different quantity of golf balls delivered.

What About The Ball?

Well, the 3 piece ball claims to be a long hitter golf ball with 90+mph club head speed recommended.

It has an super soft urethane shell that provides great feel around the green which is a plus in my book.

For the price, this is a golf ball that should be tested, that’s why I ordered a box of 12 from amazon.

Decision Time

The golf balls listed above should get you where you want to be in terms of distance off the tee.

Hopefully this post helped you in deciding what type of golf ball you should choose.

Remember, golf is full of choices, just like life!

How To Hit A Wedge Shot 50 To 75 Yards

If you are asking this question then you might not have the correct tool in the golf bag.

Or maybe you have the right tool but you lack experience with that tool to dial in the yardage.

If you want to learn how to hit a wedge shot 50 to 75 yards, it’s going to take practice. I would recommend setting aside 30 minutes from your practice time just on this shot alone.

Not a whole lot of people know about this one page on amazon. You can get anywhere from 10% off to 50% off on certain items.

But first you need the right tools, if you don’t have a good set of wedges, check out the Wilson Harmonizer on amazon

Think About It

If the 50 to 75 yard shot is something you seem to be playing a lot while on the course.

Why not practice from that distance, there’s nothing wrong with drilling that feeling into your bones.

That’s how professional basketball players practice free throws, over and over and over again until they can make it with their eyes closed.

And that’s what professional golfers do too.

What I Would Recommend

Practice hitting the wedge that you are most comfortable hitting 50 yards with a 3/4 swing.

Or if you think about the clock method, that could be a 9 O’clock swing like what was mentioned in the video.

This could even be a half swing too, you just want to use the club that feels right for that yardage.

If you dial in that yardage for whatever wedge you choose, move on to the 60 yards.

This will take more power but it should obviously be controlled and consistent.

You need to repeat this shot over and over again until it’s drilled into your bones and the feeling is engraved into your hands.

Same goes with the 70 to 75-yards, if you started with a 1/2 swing then you will probably need to bump it up to 3/4

If you stated with a 3/4 swing, you will probably need to bump it up to a full swing.

What’s The Goal?

The goal is to be able to stick a 50-yard shot with a particular wedge. I can’t decide what that wedge is for you.

You need to get out and practice until it hurts, well, maybe not that hard. But you need to figure out which wedge is the right wedge for you.

It could even be a pitching wedge, I can reduce power in my swing for a 50 to 75-yard shot.

But that’s because I have practiced so much that I know how to use my pitching wedge. From anywhere inside of 125 yards I’m pretty confident with it.

What Wedges Do You Need?

Depending on your skill level, a 60° wedge probably isn’t going to be your friend.

I would recommend a 56° or 52° and reduce the power a bit.

But that’s assuming you need to reduce the power, who knows, you might need to up the power.

That’s why it’s going to take practice and time to hit this yardage consistently.

Drills

If you are having a difficult time making a 3/4 golf swing or 1/2 golf swing then this drill should help with that.

What you want to do is during your swing, hold the club in the position of the 1/2 swing or the 3/4 swing.

So swing the club back and stop and hold that position for a few seconds.

Then take the swing from that stopped position and hit the ball or just take a swing with no ball.

All you are doing is getting the feeling for the half swing or the three quarter swing.

If you do this drill enough your body will automatically know the feeling of whatever swing you want to achieve.

So when you actually are out on the course, it will come naturally to you. You won’t need to think about it, just choose the shot and execute.

At Home Golf Practice

It’s not easy to go to the driving range and it’s not cheap either, costing somewhere around $12 per large bucket.

If you have the space and if you have the extra money to spend on a golf net then I highly recommend it.

An at home golf net makes practicing form so much easier for a fraction of the cost of going to the range.

Once you have drilled the shot you’re trying to learn into your body, take it to the range and test it out.

Then take it to the course and put in action, I bet your results will be amazing just from practicing at home.

I Made My Own Golf Net

That’s right, I wanted something custom that I could set it up once and have the ability to move it completely out of the way.

I anchored the piece that held the net to the ceiling of my garage and I was able to slide the net out of the way when I wasn’t using it.

I’m planing of doing a blog post on DIY at home golf net.

But having the net at home made it so I could warm up before a round of golf.

Practice the shots that I was too “embarrassed” to practice in front of other golfers at the range.

Do little drills that required me to use a ton of golf balls but I didn’t have to waste them on a large bucket of balls.

My home made golf net paid for itself over and over again no question about it.

The net only cost me about $40 I believe, but it was a long time ago so I will have to make sure that’s the correct cost.

Don’t Want To Make A Golf Net?

That’s fine, there’s no shortage of nets on amazon! Check out the nets listed below.

I appreciate you checking out my post and I hope you got something out of it.

If you got something out of this post, I hope it was the importance of practice.

Practice is going to be what gives you the ability to hit that wedge consistently every time.

How To Chip A Golf Ball And Make It Stop

Chipping has three main ingredients for a great golf shot. It requires finesse, imagination, and memory.

So, naturally, the pro’s that can hit the chip shot and make it stop on a dime could probably do it with their eyes closed.

They have refined their golf swing through the years and years of hard work. They drilled these movements into their muscles, and with a little imagination and creativity, they produce amazing shots.

It’s about the angle that you impact the golf ball with your wedge. Some golfers think that you need to de-loft the club but that’s the complete opposite. The goal with chipping the ball to make it stop is to use the bounce of the wedge and brush the grass.

  1. Use a 60 degree wedge
  2. Place the ball in the the center of your stance
  3. Take some practice swings and brush the grass
  4. With the weight slightly more on your left leg (right handed player) take a normal chip swing.

For example, take a great artist with a paintbrush. Have you ever noticed the finesse with the stroke of his or her brush?

An artist does not complete a great drawing, without remembering prior do’s and don’ts.

Proper Tools

Just like an artist uses the proper brush, you need to use the proper club. This also means you need to use a club with grooves that are of good quality or new.

You also need to have a clean golf club, check out my post on How To Use A Golf Club Groove Sharpener, might help you out.

Wilson Harmonizer

The Wilson Harmonizer is the perfect wedge for the new, intermediate, or seasoned pro.

It’s extremely inexpensive compared other major brands but this wedge has tons of reviews on amazon to back it up.

Where Were We?

Ah yes, notice how the artist imagination creates a great drawing in the end. What has this got to do with golf?

These are the necessary ingredients required to make a great golf shot happen.

The only difference in comparing the two artists is the type of tool they are using to perform the task. Also skill plays a role, don’t get me wrong, gotta work your butt off to get to a certain point.

If you have finesse with the golf club, along with imagination, the results will be a great golf shot, just like an artist using the finesse and imagination in a great drawing.

Finesse

Learning to finesse a golf club is a very delicate task. Next time you’re watching a golf tournament on TV, watch the pros chip around a green.

It looks like their golf swing is in slow motion. The professional golfer guides the head of the club on the takeaway.

This creates the precise amount of weight necessary to make the ball bounce off of the face of the club for the intended landing area.

The pros can stop the ball on a dime it would seem, this is because they have hundreds of hours of quality practice.

Shot after shot after shot, they sit there and hit the shot that will yield them the best results while on tour.

That is why they are able to stop the golf ball and make it look so easy.

Ingredient Number Two

To help accomplish this delicate shot, ingredient number two has to be in place.

The imagination is the preparation prior to this finessed shot.

It helps complete the physical motion and timing necessary for proper weight distribution for the clubhead speed.

If you actually visualize the golf chip before everything is in motion. This will trigger the memory in guiding the muscles and timing to create the perfect shot.

But How?

So how do we create finesse and imagination with chipping? Practicing over and over again, until chipping becomes a sixth sense.

It may seem disappointing at first, but try and pick up a paintbrush and create great artwork with the first couple of attempts.

Make this following practice drill your favorite pastime if you want to zone in on the golf hole out on the golf course.

Take your golf bag and pull out your favorite lofted golf clubs and rest the bag lying flat on the ground.

Take out as many golf balls as possible, if you’re not in the middle of a round of golf.

The more golf balls you use, the more enjoyment you will receive out of this drill and less time walking back and forth.

You will lose interest if you have to constantly gather a small number of balls all the time.

Practice Makes Perfect

Try practice chipping the ball just over your golf bag or hitting it. Move the bag away from the golf balls about 5,10 and 15 yards to start.

This will be your intended landing area when you are out on the course. The golf bag will be your target to hit or go over for distance memory.

The key goal here is to train your memory for the distance of a chip shot with certain clubs.

If you want to learn to pick up the golf ball fast, move the bag closer to you standing it upright. Or distance the bag away from you for those longer lofted shots.

Do not change clubs until you have accomplished a certain goal in mind, like the number of times you hit the bag, or by dropping the golf ball slightly over it.

If you want to learn the distance on running an accurate 7 or a 6 iron, move the bag a least twenty to twenty-five yards from your hitting area.

Progress

As you progress in your chipping skill, try different techniques of bouncing the golf ball off the face of a golf club.

See how the ball reacts with a variety of short irons, and see how high and far the ball travels with an intended target and a goal in mind.

This practice drill will help build your confidence out on the fairway when you have to chip over hazards.

When you are unable to hit greens in regulation, regulate the number of times you use your putter by practicing this drill often.

Instead of getting frustrated waiting for the group ahead of you on a slow day. Try practicing with one or two golf balls alongside a tee box, if you are not playing a match or in a tournament.

You will eventually notice a lower scorecard, even on a bad day when your longer golf clubs and putter let you down.

It is a good feeling when obstacles like sand traps and water hazards, become part of the scenario on the golf course, and not an obstacle to potentially ruin your great round.

One More Reminder

I know I said this already but if figured since we are at the end of the post, I would say it again.

Practice the shot, practice trying to make the ball stop on the green just like the pros do.

Eventually you will get it and once you do it will be a shot you can play whenever you want.

Remember, the pros on tour spend an average of 3 to 4 hours per day on practice.

I’m sure some players even spend 8 hours on practice and then some only spend an hour or two.

The point is, you need to put in the time if you want to get the results you desire.

10,000 hours of deliberate practice can make you a world class golfer, you may not have 10,000 though.

But you do have some time to practice so get out there and practice!

Chipping With A Lob Wedge

Try finding a lower handicap golfer that isn’t a good chipper of the golf ball. You won’t find anyone because most low handicap players are great at chipping, especially with a lob wedge.

If you are chipping with a lob wedge, you are probably in a tough situation. The whole point of chipping is to get the ball on the green as quickly as possible so the ball starts rolling sooner.

If you don’t have the right tools to get the job done, you will never find success.

The Wilson Harmonized golf wedge is hands down one of the best wedges for the best price on Amazon.

Wilson Harmonizer

I highly encourage you to check it out and read some of the reviews people are writing about this club.

Moving On

In the video below, it shows a perfect example of getting the all to land softly and soon so it can roll.

I find it interesting when I see mid to higher handicappers that spend so little time on improving their short game.

Check out the video below and the rest of the post to get more tips and tricks.

Think About It

By definition, higher handicap golfers are not going to hit the greens as often.

They are going to leave themselves with chip shots much more often. So why not spend some time getting better at chipping and immediately start taking strokes off your game?

I can tell you unequivocally, that if you are a higher handicap golfer you need to spend more time in this area.

Spending some time to improve your chipping skills will save you at least one to two strokes per hole.

Now that’s some serious scoring… wouldn’t you agree?

Not a whole lot of people know about this one page on amazon. You can get anywhere from 10% off to 50% off on certain items.

Gain Some Confidence

Much of chipping around the green is confidence and with practice your confidence will improve along with your chipping so it has a snowballing effect.

Let’s take a look at a few elements of chipping that will get you going in the right direction and on you way to lowering your golf score.

First of all, select the right tool for the job. One problem or mindset that many golfers have is that; if I’m around the green and am going to chip.

You use your pitching or sand wedge. If this is you, I want you to learn to select the proper club for the shot that is required.

Actually let me back up slightly, first, evaluate the shot and where you want the ball to land.

Are you hitting the ball over sand, a large patch of grass, a sidewalk? Identify your hazards.

Then get the club out that is going to do the best job for that particular lie and the amount of room you have on the green.

Should You Use A Lob Wedge?

Just because you’re close to the green doesn’t mean you need to use your lob wedge every time.

What if you had plenty of green to work with and the pin was uphill? You wouldn’t want to land the ball on the green right away with a lob wedge and let it roll the rest of the way.

This would surely fall short of the pin but if you chose to hip a less lofted club, like a pitching wedge or even a 9 iron, this would work better.

What About This

If you were chipping down hill and you only had 20 feet between you and the hole.

You are just off the fringe and in the rough. This would be a perfect lie to use your lob wedge.

If you could land the ball as soon as possible and let the slope of the green take the ball the rest of the way.

Not Sure Which Club?

Pinemeadow Wedge

Taylor Made MG2 Wedge

If you’re not sure about what club imparts what type of behavior on the golf ball, just try different clubs and shots around the practice green.

Work to get comfortable with several different clubs and approaches to your chipping.

The physical aspects of chipping are very straight forward.

You want to keep your hands slightly ahead of the clubhead. Both in your set up and as your hands and club pass through the impact zone.

Press your weight slightly forward during your set up and keep your weight pressed slightly forward throughout your chipping motion.

Use a one-piece take-a-way and motion. This is a biggie with higher handicappers… they tend to get ‘flippy’ with their hands.

When this happens the tendency is for the club head to begin to accelerate past the hands (a bad thing).

This results in the club either ‘chunks’ behind the ball or you hit the dreaded blade shot clear across the green.

Never Do This

Never decelerate the club as you come into the hitting zone. Confidence plays a big part in this for people who aren’t good chippers.

In order to get yourself to consistently accelerate through the shot, you need to practice, a lot.

when you are practicing, initially don’t worry so much about a precise target and if you are going to fly the ball too far.

Just work on a smooth chipping motion making good contact each and every time. We’ll work on distance control once you master the motion.

No Time To Practice?

Don’t let this excuse keep you from getting better! There are plenty of ways to practice your chipping that doesn’t require you to go to the course or driving range.

For instance, what if you just practice the motion in your living on the carpet.

If you have a backyard you could hit plastic golf balls or even real golf balls (just don’t let them get away from you).

You could also use Almost Golf Balls, I purchased these a while back and have lost most of them.

But these are perfect for doing small chipping around the house and backyard

Hopefully everything in this post makes sense! The most important thing to take away is club selection and practice.

This generally comes with practice and or watching a lot of pro golfers.

I’ve gone on a bit longer than I wanted and I wanted to cover more on the swing, and club selection, as well as some drills.

For now, just get yourself out there and work on the basics and making good consistent contact.

Funky Golf Pants Cheap

It’s not like you can just walk into a pro shop and expect to find rainbows, lightning bolts, tornadoes, sunshine, and clouds on a pair of pants.

What else can I say, sometimes a golfer needs to sport clothes that might catch the eyes of other golfers. Even if they are visually offensive!
